Dr. Young Chol Kim, Emeritus Professor at School of Electronics Engineering, published a book entitled “Coefficient Diagram Method for Control System Design” with Dr. Shunji Manabe at Springer Nature. The Coefficient Diagram Method is a controller design method developed by Dr. Shunji Manabe, to generate a stable controller which is robust and gives the desired performance. Springer Nature is a German-British academic publishing company to publishes journals and academic books.
Emeritus Professor Young Chol Kim has conducted research on control system theory, system modeling, controller design methodology, and various fielded system applications such as magnetic levitation trains, military laser systems, autonomous cars, and so on. The co-author, Dr. Shunji Manabe, had worked with the Central Research Laboratory of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, engaged in various control system designs including electric motor speed control, tracking RADAR control, flight simulator, wind tunnel drive, spacecraft control, and robotics, and so on, for 35 years. Then, he worked as a professor with the Department of Control Engineering, Tokai University, for 10 years.
